Federal Family Lunch Day! : Thursday, November 6: During lunch period (11:12-11:57)
With the federal government still closed, we know many of our parents and guardians are federal employees who may be furloughed and suddenly have a little extra time on your hands. If you’re looking for a reason to get out of the house, we’d love to have you join us for lunch at school, on us! We’re calling this Federal Family Lunch Day! This is a great opportunity to spend time with your student, speak with the principal, and enjoy a school lunch in our cafeteria. Yep, it’s school lunch, nothing fancy, but 100% good. Learning (and lunch!) are always better together. When: Thursday, November 6: During your child’s scheduled lunch period Cost: Free for visiting furloughed federal parents or guardians. Winter Sports Registration is now open!
Winter 2025-2026 Sports Registration is NOW open. All student-athletes must have the following in order to tryout/participate this winter season by 6pm on 11/13. Tryouts and Practices begin on November 15th.
Updated Grading Policy
As shared earlier, there is a new grading calculation for the 2025–2026 school year. The final semester grade will now be the average of the two marking period grades. Please see examples of how grades work by clicking here:
Graduation! Save the Date!
We have our graduation date. I am excited to share the date of the Class of 2026 graduation ceremony for Watkins Mill High School: June 10, 2026, 6pm. At the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus. More information to come!!
Student Parking Permit Now Available
Student parking permits are now available for $78 in the Financial Office. The deadline to purchase a permit is September 8, after which unauthorized vehicles may be ticketed or towed. How to Pay: Online In the Financial Office (cash or check) Eligibility: No outstanding school obligations. Good attendance and eligible.

SchoolCash Online (SCO)
Montgomery County Public Schools has transitioned to a new online payment system called SchoolCash Online as its preferred method of payment for school-related fees such as fundraisers, field trips, obligations, etc. Click on the link for more information, as well as parent instructions in English and Spanish
