Travilah Summer Reading Letter

This is our fourth year participating in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge, a free online reading program that invites children to log their reading minutes all summer! The goal is for the students in our school to read the most minutes possible in an effort to win “Best in State” recognition and get mentioned in the Scholastic Book of World Records! With your help, we can do it! Summer Reading packets have gone home in your child’s backpack. The packet will describe in detail Travilah’s summer reading program and offer a variety of ways students can respond to text. It will also contain directions to log minutes read for our reading program. Over the summer have your child record the books they read on the reading log and online. If your child reaches the goal of reading 20 minutes a day and completes one activity of his or her choice, he or she will get an invitation to the Summer Reading Ice Cream Party sponsored by the PTA.

Summer reading packets will be due no later than September 6, 2019.
