March Newsletter–MYP
This month MYP will collaborate with the Language B (Foreign Language) department to re-inaugurate its international exchange for advanced French-speaking students. After an intensive and somewhat exhaustive search to identify a suitable collaborative school, our French 2 students will join their 7th and 8th grade French Immersion schoolmates in a ten-day exchange with students from Collège Sainte Thérèse in Versailles, France. Collège Sainte Thérèse is a private school that serves around 350 secondary students aged 11 to 15 and 180 primary students aged 3-11. Our students will arrive at Charles de Gaulle airport outside of Paris on the morning of Saturday, March 20 after an overnight flight from Dulles. They will spend the weekend with their host families and attend school with their exchange correspondents on Monday and Tuesday, March 22nd and 23rd. Our students are expected to embark on an overnight field trip on the 24th and 25th to tour the historic sites of Mont Saint Michel and St. Malo, located in Normandy and Brittany. They will spend Friday and Saturday visiting sites in Versailles and Paris before returning home to Maryland on the 28th.
