Book Wars is a fun and exciting trivia tournament for select MCPS middle schools!
RFMS has three teams, one for each grade level. Teams meet twice monthly during lunch in the library to get to know each other, discuss books, create practice quizzes, and have fun! Book Wars books cover a variety of genres. They are all available to borrow from our school, and approved for middle school readers.
Team members must commit to reading their assigned books, and to attend and participate at meetings.
**Space is limited. Only 15 spots are available.
Want to earn SSL hours working in the library? Join us once a week after school to help out in the Media Center. Learn how to shelve books using the Dewey Decimal System and help plan and decorate the bulletin boards for upcoming events!
Library Advisory Board
The Library Advisory Board's goal is to promote library services and programs at Robert Frost Middle School community by:
Advising, planning and implementing programs.
Promoting ideas, reading , ebooks, programming and expression by and for teens by creating bulletin boards and displays in the media center.
Recommending books, movies, audiobooks, Playaways, and magazines for the library media collection.
Creating an inviting library media for all students
is a creative, DIY space that provides students the opportunity to collaboratively or independently create, invent, and learn when they visit the Media Center. We want our Media Center to be a
place where kids can learn, not only through books, but through hands on
activities as well. Maker Monday is
a monthly lunch program that highlights working together on a specific project
while also making literary connections to what the students are working on.
