WIDA Testing and Student Success Hour - Feb. 2nd - Feb. 5th

Attention Cougars! During the week of February 2nd, we will be conducting the WIDA ACCESS for ELLs assessment. While many of our students are testing, all other students will participate in Student Success Hour, a dedicated time for targeted support and academic enrichment.

Daily Success Hour Schedule - in the slides

The Success Hour will take place from 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM Monday through Thursday. Each day focuses on a different area for testers, while others attend their chosen enrichment sessions:

Monday, Feb 2: Listening Focus

 

Tuesday, Feb 3: Reading Focus

 

Wednesday, Feb 4: Writing Focus (Report Card Distribution Day)

 

Thursday, Feb 5: Speaking Focus

 

Friday, Feb 6: Regular Day Schedule

 

Choose Your Path:

 

  1. Students not participating in WIDA testing must sign up for one of the following five options:
    1. SAT Prep: Get ready with tips for preparing for the SAT School Day on March 11th.
    2. SSL Opportunities: Earn Student Service-Learning hours doing short projects.
    3. AP Prep Review: Targeted review sessions for Advanced Placement courses.
    4. College and Career: Planning sessions with Ms. Romero.
    5. Academic Connections: Support for Students in Credit Recovery.

Important Reminder

 

  1. Wednesday, Feb 4: A brief homeroom will be held at 9:00 AM for report card distribution.
