Parking Permit Applications & Info

2026-27 QOHS Student Parking Information & Application - Semester 1

The First Semester Student Parking Application is now live.

Please take a few minutes to read this entire message before submitting your application. This message contains important information about the parking application process, eligibility requirements, timelines, payment procedures, and student parking expectations.

Any student wishing to park on campus during the first semester must apply for a parking permit.

Having a parking permit is a privilege, not a right, and may be revoked if students fail to follow Quince Orchard High School or Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) policies.

Submission of an application does not guarantee a parking permit. Permits are issued each semester based on eligibility and available parking spaces.

Who May Apply?

Applications will be reviewed based on parking availability and the following eligibility criteria:

  • 11th- or 12th-grade students (per MCPS classification)
  • Students dually enrolled in in-person Montgomery College classes during the school day
  • Students participating in an off-site Work-Based Learning (WBL) program
  • Students with an abbreviated school schedule
  • Students participating in school-sponsored activities when activity buses are unavailable
  • Students attending another school that requires private transportation
  • Students living outside school or MCPS bus transportation boundaries
  • Students with a demonstrated unusual or imperative transportation need
  • Students with satisfactory attendance, behavior, and academic standing
  • Students with no outstanding financial obligations or other school obligations

If eligible applications exceed the number of available spaces, priority will be given to eligible seniors (12th-grade students).

Students who meet the criteria above may complete the Student Parking Application Google Form to request a permit.

 Application Timeline

  • Application Window: Monday, August 3, 2026 – Tuesday, September 1, 2026
  • Notification of Status: Friday, September 4, 2026 (sent to your @mcpsmd.net email account)

Late applications will not be considered. Students who are not initially offered a permit will be placed on a waitlist. As spaces become available, permits will be offered in the order completed applications are received.

 If You Are Approved

Students who receive a parking permit offer must:

  • Pay the $39.00 parking permit fee through School Cash Online (payment instructions will be included in the approval email).
  • Complete payment before picking up the permit.
  • Bring a printed payment receipt and a signed Parking Contract to Mrs. Lantos, School Business Administrator, in the Main Office during lunch between Tuesday, September 8, and Friday, September 11, 2026, to receive your permit. The Parking Contract will be included in the approval email.

 Parking Expectations

Students issued a permit may park only in the white-lined student parking spaces near the tennis courts using their registered vehicle.

Parking permits must:

  • Be displayed on the rearview mirror with the permit number facing outward.
  • Be used only by the registered student and registered vehicle.
  • Never be shared or transferred to another student or vehicle.

Students without a valid permit may not park on campus and are subject to school disciplinary consequences.

 Important Reminders

Permit holders are expected to follow all school and MCPS parking regulations. Violations of these regulations, including reckless driving, parking in unauthorized areas, leaving campus without permission during the school day, returning to vehicles during school hours without permission, and other disciplinary infractions, may result in the suspension or revocation of parking privileges, in addition to other school consequences.

Please note that Quince Orchard High School cannot dismiss or revoke parking or traffic citations issued by the Montgomery County Police Department.

By submitting a parking application, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the expectations and regulations for student parking at Quince Orchard High School and agree to comply with all school and MCPS parking policies if a permit is issued.

If you have any questions, please email me at kari_v_lantos@mcpsmd.org. Thank you.
