NAACP ACT-SO Competition
The local and national program ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics) sponsored by the NAACP is past the halfway mark for this season. The deadline for applications is Friday, January 30, 2026. ACT-SO encourages students to strive for excellence in academics and the arts. Students create projects in STEM, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Humanities (Writing), and Business according to the rubrics (attached to this email). The projects are submitted and reviewed; then students compete in a local competition. Local gold medalists may advance to the National ACT-SO competition in July where they can compete for scholarship dollars. Please email rosie_justilien@mcpsmd.org for information!
