March In-School SAT Day

Mark Your Calendars: SAT Day is March 11th!

Cougars, the Digital SAT is coming to our school on Wednesday, March 11th. This is a fantastic opportunity for 11th-grade students to take the SAT in a familiar environment during the school day. This is free, so no signup is necessary as we take care of all of the registration. Because the test is now fully digital, we want to ensure every family has the resources they need to feel confident and prepared.

Essential Checklist for Families of Students in Class of 2027

To make the most of the time leading up to March 11th, we suggest the following roadmap:

  1. Bluebook: The SAT is taken on the College Board’s Bluebook app.
  2. Take a Full-Length Practice Test: Several full-length, adaptive practice tests are available directly in the Bluebook app and on Khan Academy. This is the best way to build "test stamina."
  3. Link Your Scores: After taking a Bluebook practice test, students can link their results to Khan Academy to receive a custom practice plan based on the questions they missed.
  4. Master the Desmos Calculator: The digital SAT has a built-in Desmos graphing calculator. Practicing with it on Khan Academy or Bluebook will save valuable time on test day.
  5. Computer Access: Chromebooks should be brought to school at least once a week to load key updates while connected to the school's Wi-Fi. The test will be taken only on a school-issued device.

Prep Resource: Khan Academy

We highly recommend the Official Digital SAT Prep on Khan Academy. It is 100% free and was built in direct partnership with the College Board (the creators of the SAT).

What’s included:

  • Personalized Study Plans: Lessons tailored to your specific strengths and weaknesses.
  • Interactive Practice: Thousands of practice questions with instant feedback and video explanations.
  • Skill Mastery: Lessons covering every topic in Reading, Writing, and Math.

💡 Parent Tip: "The 30-Minute Rule"

Prep doesn't have to be a marathon! Research shows that just 30 minutes of focused practice on Khan Academy twice a week can significantly improve scores. Encourage your student to find a consistent "SAT Power Hour" in their weekly schedule.

Questions? Please contact Mrs. Ross in the main office, for more information on test-day logistics. Bluebook Digital Readiness check will be on February 20th during Cougars Connect.
