Notes From the Health Room
Students with a fever of 100°F or higher, accompanied by a cough and/or sore throat, should stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medication. We are trying to prevent the spread of communicable disease in school.
Handwashing is the best way to help prevent the spread of germs. Please discuss with your kids and emphasize the importance of handwashing during the school day.

Authorization to Administer Prescribed Medication
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and Montgomery County Public Schools discourage the administration of medication to students in school during the school day. Any necessary medication that can possibly be administered before and after school should be so prescribed. Only non-parenteral medications are administered except in specific emergency situations. School personnel will, when it is absolutely necessary, administer medication to students during the school day and while participating in outdoor education programs and overnight field trips, according to the procedures outlined on the back of this form.
