Wootton High School is proud to host an information session on vaping and drug abuse and the effects on teens. Leading the presentation is Dr. Ruben Baler, Health Scientist at the NIH, National Institute of Drug Abuse. All cluster school parents and students are invited to attend.  When: Tomorrow evening, Monday, December 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm, Wootton High School Auditorium

***This Friday, December 13th, is Fitness Friday!  Please wear your favorite workout attire to gear up your metabolisms for all the upcoming holiday indulgences!!

***Montgomery County Police Department Autism/ Intellectual, Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Outreach Unit will be at CiCi's Pizza in Rockville on Thursday, December 12th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Come on out and meet our local officers, enjoy some pizza and make new friends all while receiving 25% off your meal!  Officers will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have as well as share what they have been doing this year and previous years to make Montgomery County a safe, aware and inclusive community for those who have Autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 *** The Girls on the Run are taking donations for the Humane Society as part of the community project they chose to do.  They are collecting new items for cats and dogs such as food, leases, collars, toys, etc.  Donation boxes have been set out throughout the school if you are interested in donating so check everywhere for coins, hidden money, etc. to drop in a box! The drive will end before winter break on December 20th.

**Eagle Plaque donations: In this holiday season, the Lakewood ES PTA is thankful for you and your contribution to the school.   Hopefully, everyone has seen the Lakewood's Good Luck charm, the Wooden Eagle Statue, in the front lobby of the school.  Isn't it a great icon for our wonderful school?  If you are interested in donating to the Eagle Statue, please contact PTA assistant treasurer, Siwei Luo at seeway@gmail.com for detail.  We currently only have 19 plates left on the Eagle donation plaque. 

**The Lakewood SGA would like to thank everyone who donated gently used and new shoes to the Soles4Souls Shoe Drive at Lakewood!  We collected over 1250 pairs of shoes that were sent all over the world in time for the Holidays!
