I am excited to offer your child a visual and tactile language - American Sign Language (ASL). ASL is in the top three used languages in this country (behind English and Spanish) and the numbers are growing. Our Deaf Community in this area is one of the largest in the country. I LOVE teaching this language to your children and worked hard to make it an option at DHS. I am passionate about teaching not only the language, but the history and culture of the Deaf community. I work hard at fostering an atmosphere of kindness and respect in my classroom. This is my 21st year at DHS and my 25th year in the county. I live in Damascus with my husband of 36 years and am blessed with a daughter and a son (both married) and just recently a beautiful granddaughter and grandson. Life is good.
