Maryland: Then & Now - Grade 8

Attention 8th Grade Parents! All 8th grade students will participate in an interdisciplinary day of learning with the theme “Maryland: Then and Now,” which is a culmination of the topics students have learned about in their Individuals & Societies classes throughout the year. Students will view a live jousting demonstration, hear from guest speakers, design a quilt, and enjoy a delicious Maryland themed buffet lunch, including crabs! The cost of this event is $10.00, which covers the cost of all aspects of the day.

Permission slips have been sent home and should be returned as soon as possible. In order for students to eat the buffet lunch, a permission slip must be signed. Payment can be made via cash, check, or online

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We need your help in order to successfully serve a buffet lunch to approximately 450 students! If you are able to volunteer any of your time, please sign up here. We are also looking for 1 parent willing to pick up our crabs from Hyattsville, MD on the morning of the event.

If you have any questions about this event, please contact Elizabeth Gall, MYP Coordinator
