Future Vote Program - SSL Opportunity!

Montgomery County Board of Elections Recruiting for “Future Vote” Program

The Montgomery County Board of Elections is seeking school-age students, grades 6-12, to participate in its “Future Vote” Program.  Future Vote students will serve as Election Day student aides during the 2020 Presidential Primary Election and during Primary Early Voting.

Students and their guardians must attend mandatory training to participate in the Future Vote Program and, if applicable, students will receive Student Service Learning (SSL) credits.  This initiative combines civic participation and the opportunity to observe democracy in action.

Since 2004, over 43,600 students have participated in the Future Vote Initiative, including thousands of high school students who have served as Election Poll Workers after their sixteenth birthday.  Students 16 years old or older are eligible to register to vote and serve as Election Workers. Students serving as Election Workers may choose to earn up to 25 Student Service Learning (SSL) hours or up to $210.

Interested guardians may register their child(ren) into Future Vote by texting FV to 77788 or by visiting the Future Vote Initiative sign-up page.

Guardians with child(ren) 16 years or older may apply to serve as Election Poll Workers by texting SERVE to 77788 or by completing the online application, in order to be considered for this program.
