Nine Blake students Showcased at the Annual Nora School Photo Festival

We've got some exciting news from the Art Department!

Last Saturday, nine of our students were showcased at the annual Nora School Photo Festival. Amongst tough competition, with over 100 submissions from 18 public & private schools across Maryland, I'm thrilled to share that Niambi Mills clinched FIRST PLACE for her stunning photo!

Kasey Sanchez Juarez

Also, Leela Thacker and Niambi Mills have been chosen to participate in Rep. Jamie Raskin's Congressional Art Competition, which is a big deal! Their artwork will be showcased in the gallery at VisArts in Rockville from May 5th to May 12th. On May 5th, Rep. Raskin himself will select a winning piece of art and a runner-up. The runner-up's artwork will be displayed for a year in Representative Raskin’s District office, while the winning piece will hang proudly for a year at the Capital Building alongside other winners from across the country
