Opportunity #1: Calling all cars and community members! Praisner Community Center in Burtonsville, MD, is hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We’re looking for our wonderful community to help make this event Spooktacular! Come join us as we celebrate the fall season in a safe and fun way. We’re seeking volunteers to decorate your vehicles and pass out treats to the children and families of Burtonsville.
Please let me know if you’re interested in participating—or even if you’re unable to this year. Your support and community spirit make events like this possible!

Opportunity #2: The Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County will host our 21st annual Step UP for Down Syndrome Walk on Saturday, October 25. Volunteers are a critical component to the success of this event and the students of Montgomery County make up the bulk of the team on Walk day. We are inviting volunteers to sign up for the event using the Google Form below. Four volunteer shifts are available, with times running as early as 7:00 AM and as late as 3:30 PM. The Walk will take place at the Falls Road Local Park, 12600 Falls Road, Potomac, MD, 20854.
