NEC High School Open Houses

Open Houses are IN-PERSON events! For those unable to join in person, a virtual option will be available at a later date.

  • October 7: Springbrook HS Open House, 6:30 p.m. (6:00 p.m. for IB Regional information) 
  • October 14: James Hubert Blake HS Open House, 6:30 p.m. 
  • October 21: Paint Branch HS Open House, 6:30 p.m.
Here is some additional information about MCPS High School Regional and Countywide programs that students may choose to apply to. While students are NOT REQUIRED to apply to any of these application-based programs, the NEC High School Choice Process is MANDATORY for all students living in the NEC. Applications for regional and countywide programs will be available on ParentVUE. 
Regional/Countywide Programs Available
In addition to the various academic programs in the local schools, Grade 8 students who live in Montgomery County may be eligible to apply to MCPS High School Regional/Countywide Application Programs (criteria-based/selective and interest based/lottery). For more information, visit the MCPS regional/countywide high school application programs website below.  Application season is expected to open in early October with the expected deadline of November 7, 2025. 
Note: HS regional/countywide programs that have a criteria-based admissions process may have additional eligibility requirements. Review specific program information for more details.
