About SKES
Strawberry Knoll Elementary School, fondly known as "The Knoll", is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. SKES serves approximately 560 students from Pre-K through 5th grade.
In addition to our general education program, we also house one Head Start Learning Center, one Pre Kindergarten, two Autism classes, and seven Preschool Education Program (PEP) classes.
Strawberry Knoll is part of the Gaithersburg Cluster of schools in Montgomery County, Maryland. Students who graduate from Strawberry Knoll will attend Gaithersburg Middle School and Gaithersburg High School.

3:00 p.m. Dismissal beginsAfternoon announcements are made to dismiss students beginning at 3:00 p.m. To ensure a smooth dismissal, we kindly ask that you wait outdoors. We also request that you not ask for your child to be dismissed from his/her classroom after 2:55 p.m. Thanks in advance for honoring this request.
Kindergarten students must be picked up from the gym. Parents/older siblings/daycare providers are to meet kindergarten students no earlier than 3:05 p.m.
Walker Exits:Students who live behind the Knoll exit the building as follows:
First grade students leave through the exit opposite Mrs. Metoyer’s room.
Second through fifth grade students leave by Mrs. Williams’s office.
Students who live in front of the Knoll exit the building as follows:
First grade students leave by Mr. Kaplan’s office.
Second through fifth grade students leave by Mrs. Schoenfelder’s room.
Car Rider Exits:First grade students leave by Mr. Kaplan’s office.
Second through fifth grade students exit by Mrs. Schoenfelder’s office.
All students are to walk single file when leaving their classrooms.
