Black Eyed Susan Review Form (2022-2023)
Students must read a minimum of 3 Black Eyed Susan books in one of the four categories (middle reads, quick reads, challenge reads, or graphic novels) to earn a certificate and to vote for their favorite. Students who meet the requirements will be invited to a voting celebration in April. For more information about the state program visit https://www.maslmd.org/black-eyed-susan-award.
Note: Students can read more than 3 BES books across the 4 categories-the student who reads the most BES books receives special recognition.
Black-Eyed Susan Nominated Titles for Middle School Students: Click here for a list of all of the past novels that have been nominated for the Black-Eyed Susan Award for students in grades K-12. This list includes a wide variety of genres and reading levels for all students. All titles were selected by a committee of librarians from the Maryland Association of School Librarians.
