The Writing Center is open during lunch on every school day at the computer lab in Room 222. Bring your papers, bring your disks, but most importantly, bring yourself!
We, the peer consultants and teachers, work to encourage and enable students of all grades to succeed in learning how to write at a high level across the curriculum. Our peer consultants are trained to help students through one-on-one sessions and other methods of instruction.
Come to the center if:
-
You have been advised by your teacher to seek extra help in planning, writing, or revising a piece of writing
-
You wish to improve your writing skills in any situation
-
You are a senior who would like help on a college essay
Our teachers or peer consultants are eager and happy to clarify assignments, explore ideas, organize essays, and strategize revisions. We also focus in-depth on troublesome aspects of writing a paper, such as organizational, stylistic, mechanical, and grammatical issues.
The Writing Center does not proofread. Rather, we prefer and are focused on working with students to improve their writing.
