Best Buddies at Cabin John

Best Buddies is a non-profit organization established in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver. The mission of Best Buddies is to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships. In middle school, Best Buddies operates as a student-run friendship club, which creates buddy pairs between students with and without disabilities. Members of Best Buddies make a commitment to communicate with their buddy once a week via email, telephone, or at school. The club will plan at least four group activities outside of school such as pizza parties, bowling outings, kickball games, and ice cream socials. If you are interested in becoming a member of Best Buddies or want more information, please sign up at the attendance office or see Ms. Elena Schneider.
