CJMS Summer Literacy

The English Department asks all our students to engage in reading, writing, and thinking over the summer. The activities in the various grade level assignments are designed to help you engage your critical thinking and analysis skills, and maintain your learning levels during the summer break.

Consider spreading these tasks out over the summer, rather than completing them all the first (or last!) week of the summer. Choose novels and other readings that engage your interest and spark your curiosity!

All the Grade Level Literacy assignments are Google Docs that should be accessible to everyone with the link. You will need to use File/Make a Copy... to create a version that you can write on. One thing for students to remember is that at the end of the summer you will lose access to your school Google account for a few days when the passwords are updated for the coming year - if you will want to continue working on electronic documents close to the start of the school year be sure to save a copy of your work to someplace else (like a flashdrive, computer hard drive, or other cloud drive).
