LET'S GET TECHNICAL!
The Technology Department has been very busy this year. In 6th grade our students in ICT6 have been using Photo story to explore the state of the Chesapeake Bay. They are getting ready to start programming in the next couple of weeks. In 7th grade our students are working on a variety of projects. In Computer Applications the students are finishing up a unit learning how to program using Flash and will soon move to a program called Alice to continue working on programming. In Digital Photography the students continue to learn how Math can relate to the art of photography and the students are becoming more familiar with the photo-editing software. In the CADD-ARE Engineering class the students have begun to work on making circuit boards. This work is setting the foundation for an exciting project, SEA-PEARCH, which is in conjunction with the Office of Naval Research.
In 8th grade Web Design the students are continuing to learn HTML code, and are learning how to insert the pictures, links, and tables into webpages using only HTML code. In the Introduction to Engineering class the students are finishing up designing and producing their puzzle cubes. They are also learning how to use a Computer Aided Design program to model their creations. We are very busy in the technology department and are excited by all the different technology the students are getting to experience
