Dear Walt Whitman High School Community Members,
With our first two weeks of the 2025–2026 school year behind us, we are excited to welcome you to Back-to-School Night (BTSN) on Thursday, September 11, 2025. This evening is an opportunity to step into our classrooms, learn more about our goals for the year, and connect as a community. We look forward to sharing our expertise, our love of teaching, and our commitment to caring for each of our students.
We invite parents/caregivers to come early and grab dinner at one of the food trucks that we have scheduled to be at Whitman that evening. The food trucks will be in the front bus loop from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
4th Annual Back-to-School Night Information Fair
Our Back-to-School Night Information Fair will be from 6:00-7:00p.m. throughout Whitman’s first floor. We encourage families to visit various table exhibits including meeting our parent and student leadership groups, ParentVUE support, and information about various clubs and activities.
Back-to-School Night Breakout Sessions
New this year, Whitman is offering an opportunity for families to attend two breakout sessions prior to visiting classrooms. Please see below for the different sessions options that are available. For a printable BTSN student schedule template, click here.

Our schedule for the evening provides 10 minutes to hear from each teacher with a 5-minute travel time between classes. Please be mindful of limiting specific questions about your child to allow teachers the opportunity to share classwide information. Student schedules can be accessed through ParentVUE. However, it may be helpful to screenshot your child’s schedule the night before due to limited Wi-Fi access. If you are unable to access your child’s schedule please come to the main office to have your child’s schedule printed.

Back-to-School Night has typically been well-attended therefore, parking will be limited. Please consider carpooling and arriving early in order to find a parking space. Whitman’s security will be on-site to assist with parking.
