Outdoor Education Announcements - Less Than 2 Weeks to Go!

Permission Slips & Forms
Outdoor Education is less than 2 weeks away! Students need to turn in their permission slips and forms to Ms. Collison as soon as possible. This trip is only offered to 6th graders and is always a ton of fun, so please check in with your students to make sure they have secured their spot on this trip!

Chaperones
If you are interested in chaperoning, please review this document to ensure that you have taken all of the steps necessary to become a chaperone. Once you have completed all of the steps, please fill out this Google Form. Mr. Alexander and Ms. Chimelis, our Outdoor Ed Coordinators, will use the Google Form to monitor who is prepared and planning to chaperone during Outdoor Ed.

Students Attending for the Day ONLY
In addition, students who attend Outdoor Ed during the day ONLY instead of overnight are asked to pay no more than $38. If you speak with a member of our Outdoor Ed team and we decide that your student will be provided with this option, the student will need to have their own transportation to and from the Smith Environmental Center during the following times:
Meeting & Additional Updates Coming Soon
Keep an eye out for an announcement for a parent information meeting next week. We are finalizing where and when the meeting will take place, but it will be an opportunity to ask any final questions you might have about the trip and to complete and submit permission slips and forms. In addition, we will be sending out communication next week regarding the schedule for student drop-off on the first day of the trip and pick-up on their last day.

Who to Contact
As always, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Alexander (Patrick_J_Alexander@mcpsmd.org) or Ms. Chimelis (Ashley_I_Chimelis@mcpsmd.org) with any questions. We can't wait for the fun to begin!
