WELCOME PRE-K FAMILIES

Dear Pre-K Families,

Welcome to an exciting new school year! We are thrilled to open our doors to your family and officially welcome your child to our public Pre-K center. Starting Pre-K is a significant milestone, and we are honored to be your partners as your child takes these early, meaningful steps in their educational journey.

Our guiding theme for this school year is Rooted in Purpose, Growing Together. We firmly believe that every child enters our school with unique talents and boundless potential. Together with you, our goal is to nurture that potential, cultivate curiosity, and spark a lifelong love for learning.

We view families as our most valued partners. You are your child’s first and most important teacher, and open communication between home and school is essential to their success. To kick off this partnership, we are excited to invite you to Family Engagement Week, August 24-28th.

What to Expect During Family Engagement Week:

  • Meet the Teachers: Connect directly with your child’s classroom teachers and support staff.
  • Share & Learn: Tell us about your child's strengths, interests, and routines so we can best support them.
  • Ask Questions: Get answers about daily schedules, drop-off/pick-up routines, meals, and classroom activities.
  • Explore the Environment: Help your child become familiar and comfortable with their new classroom space.

Quick Tips for a Smooth First Week:

  • Labels: Please label all personal belongings, including backpacks, extra changes of clothes, and water bottles.
  • Comfort Items: A small, familiar item (like a family photo) can help ease first-day jitters.
  • Consistent Routines: Practicing bedtime and morning routines early helps make the transition smoother for little ones.

Keep an eye out for an email from your child's teacher with your specific date and time slot for Family Engagement Week. We are so grateful to have you as part of our school community and look forward to a year of growth, joy, and discovery!

Warmly,

Tonya L. Williams-Walker
