 Hello, first graders and families!

It is a pleasure to welcome you all to our inaugural year at Snowden Farm Elementary School. This year we will learn many new skills, work hard to reach our goals, and we will certainly have fun along the way.   This will be my sixth year teaching first grade with Montgomery County Public Schools. I’m so excited to be a part of the first grade team at Snowden Farm Elementary School. I grew up in Frederick County, Maryland, I attended the University of Maryland for my undergraduate education, and later attended Towson University where I received my Master’s in Early Childhood Education. I love to read, spend time with my husband and family, and I love to dance!

I believe in a strong home and school connection. I look forward to building a relationship not only with my students, but with their families as well. I will be communicating with families frequently through MyMCPS Classroom updates and direct emails to keep you in the loop about what we are learning, upcoming events, and any other important information about our class and about your child. If you have any questions throughout the year, feel free to email me at Taylor_D_Thompson@mcpsmd.org or call the school and I’ll be happy to speak with you regarding your child’s school experience.

I’m looking forward to a wonderful year in first grade! I hope you all are too!

Best Regards,

Mrs. Taylor Thompson

Hi first graders and families!

I am so excited to be a part of the opening of Snowden Farm ES with you!  This year is going to be filled with many new and exciting things; I look forward to working together to make it successful!

This is the start of my seventh year teaching with Montgomery County Public Schools.  I previously taught first, second, and third grade at Burning Tree Elementary in Bethesda.  I grew up, and recently moved back to, Frederick, MD.  I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  I recently completed my Master’s of Education with a specialization in teaching English Language Learners through Walden University.  Outside of school, I love to jump rope (I was on a competitive team for about fifteen years), hand-letter anything and everything, and dabble in some watercolor painting.  I am getting married in October, so I won’t be Ms. Briggs for long!  My married name will be Mrs. Weeks :)

To create a strong home-school connection, communication is key.  Frequent updates will be shared through the Parent Portal on MyMCPS Classroom.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at Aimee_E_Briggs@mcpsmd.org or call the school.

I am looking forward to an amazing year!

Best,

Ms. Aimee Briggs

 Hi first graders and families!

I am so excited to be a first grade teacher this year at Snowden Farm Elementary School. We are going to make so many unforgettable memories this year that will last us and our new school a lifetime! I can’t wait to meet you at our Open House on Thursday, August 29th, and see you on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 3rd. In first grade we will learn lots of new skills, work collaboratively, and share a ton of laughs as we make memorable learning experiences together.

This is my fourth year teaching first grade with Montgomery County Public Schools. I previously taught first grade at Wilson Wims Elementary School, so I am super excited to get to see familiar faces this year as we transition to our new school together! I grew up in Frederick, MD, and graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree with Hood College in Curriculum and Instruction, with a focus in Elementary S.T.E.M. I love to cook, play with my kittens, go hiking/camping, and go to the beach.

I am very passionate about engaging and hands-on learning experiences, using my students’ interests to guide my instruction, and building strong relationships with my students and their families. I will be communicating with families frequently through MyMCPS Classroom updates and direct emails to keep you in the loop about what we are learning, upcoming events, and any other important information about our class and your child. If you need to contact me, you can email me at Kristin_Jones@mcpsmd.org or call the school at 240-740-5800 and they can transfer the call to my classroom.

I am looking forward to an amazing year with you!

Warm regards,

Ms. Kristin Jones

Hello first graders and families. Welcome to the Snowden Farm family!

I am very excited to begin this new journey with you and your children. We will have so much fun learning and growing as we build many memorable memories.

This will be my  second year of teaching with MCPS. Previously I was a preschool teacher for five years. I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  I was extremely lucky to have the opportunity to do my student teaching at Wilson Wims and to teach Kindergarten for my first year. This means I get to see familiar faces this year as we transition to our new school together, making it extra special! I live with my husband and dog in Gaithersburg. When I am not working on new lessons or fun activities I will be enjoying time with my husband and dog outdoors or snuggling up and watching a film.

I love to teach! This includes making learning fun, engaging and meaningful for all students. A big component to make this happen is you, parents/guardians. I believe in building strong and meaningful relationships with students and families. I will constantly keep an open line of communication.   I will be communicating with families frequently through MyMCPS Classroom updates and direct emails to keep you in the loop about what we are learning, upcoming events, and any other important information about our class and your child. If you need to contact me, you can email me at Marlen_Cervantes2@mcpsmd.org  or call the school at 240-740-5800 and they can transfer the call to my classroom.

I am looking forward to an amazing year. Go Stallions!

All the best,

Marlen Cervantes

 Hello first graders and families!

I am so excited to be part of the opening of Snowden Farm ES! What an exciting opportunity to help build the SFES community within the Clarksburg community. We are going to have a lot of fun learning and growing both academically and socially. I can’t wait to get started!

This is my 15th year (wow!) of teaching. I previously taught at Bradley Hills ES in Bethesda and Rachel Carson ES in Gaithersburg. Growing up, I attended MCPS schools, graduating from Quince Orchard High School. I got my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Millersville University in Lancaster, PA. I then earned my master’s degree in ESOL from the University of Maryland, College Park. I live in Ijamsville with my husband, my four-year old daughter, Grace, and my two-year old twins, Connor and Emily. They keep me very busy and I love it! I also enjoy reading, baking, exercising, and spending time at the beach.

I am a big believer in keeping an open line of communication with parents to ensure success. I will keep in touch with classroom and individual updates through this website, email, monthly newsletters, and phone calls. Please do not hesitate to contact me; my email is Cynthia_L_Dembnicki@mcpsmd.org and the school phone number is 240-740-5800.

I am looking forward to a productive school year!

Respectfully,

Cindy Dembnicki
