After having two children and moving to Maryland, I earned a Master’s degree and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology from Towson University. After serving as a school psychologist in MCPS, I pursued a graduate certificate in Administration and Supervision from Towson University. Before becoming the proud principal of Rock View, I served the school communities of Rosemary Hills and Wood Acres Elementary Schools as an Assistant Principal, and Rock View’s as a Principal Intern and Acting Principal.

About Ms. Stump:

July 9, 2018

Dear Rock View Students, and Families,

I am honored and excited to join the Rock View community as Assistant Principal for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year.  I look forward to a year of learning and growth with our students, staff, and families.

I was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Hyattsville, Maryland where I still currently reside with my husband, our two-year-old son, and our dog.  When I was young, learning to read was a struggle for me. Through hard work and support, I became a great reader. It is from these experience, I gained my passion for ensuring that all students feel successful with reading.

This year I will begin my fourteenth year in Montgomery County Public Schools. Prior to joining the Rock View community, I spent my time at Viers Mill Elementary School and Benjamin Banneker Middle School. My experiences as a teacher, team leader, literacy coach, and content specialist have allowed me to engage multiple stakeholders in the success of our students. I plan on bringing these experiences to Rock View in order to promote equitable access to instruction and academic success.

I will be working collaboratively with all of you to ensure the success of all our students. I look forward to meeting everyone! Please feel free to reach out to me by phone at (240) 740-0920 or via email at
