Welcome to a wonderful year at Dr. Sally K. Ride Elementary School; home of the Eagles! I am excited to serve the community, staff, and students of our wonderful Germantown community.
A Little Bit About Me
I was born and raised in South Jersey. I am the daughter of a principal and am honored to follow in my mother's footsteps. I am a Germantown resident and strongly believe in our work together around Community and Opportunity for all! I frequently visit the Germantown Library and hope to see you there reading a great book!
Before I began my education career, I was a Mountie at Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. I graduated with a dual certification in Special Education and General Education. I later earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Hood College in Frederick, MD.
I began my MCPS career in 2002 as a Special Education teacher at Waters Landing Elementary School. I later became a fourth grade teacher and team leader and subsequently went back to teaching Special Education before transitioning into being an Assistant Principal. I served as the Assistant Principal at Cannon Road Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD from 2010-2014. During the 2014-2015 school year, I was the proud Principal Intern at Strawberry Knoll Elementary School in Gaithersburg, MD.
My commitment to you is this: I will do whatever it takes to support our students and staff, close the achievement gap and approach all situations with a growth mindset!
