To report an absence, call 240-740-2101 by 9am.
Upon return to school, have student bring a note, which should include the student's name, grade, dates of absence, and reason, to the main office [use this template]. MCPS requires a doctor's note for absences of 5 days or more upon returning to school. For an absence of 3 days or longer, homework may be requested by calling the Counseling Office at 240-740-2110.
Early dismissals
Students should deliver a note from home to the main office the morning of the early dismissal. Note should include date, time, and reason. The student takes a pass from the office, and shows it to the teacher in order to be excused from class. Students are not permitted to leave class without a pass. Please avoid the temptation to text your child in class - this has resulted in confiscation of the phone. Parents should come into the main office to sign the student out, do not sit outside and wait!
Late Arrivals
Students must sign-in in the office if they arrive to class after 8:15 am. Students late more than four times will receive a consequence, as determined by administrators.
