From Dr. Fish, Principal
Dear Flower Valley Elementary School Staff, Students, and Families,
I am honored to be serving the Flower Valley Elementary School community! Throughout my professional career, I have been a staunch advocate for children and their educational needs. I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher for 18 years, a past member and president of the Frederick County Board of Education, an administrator for 8 years, and, most recently, as the very proud principal of Flower Valley Elementary School.
My vision for leadership is focused on meeting the needs of every single child that walks through our doors. I believe in providing all students with the access and opportunities to pursue their passions and achieve success while breaking down any barriers in their way. I am dedicated to this work and understand how critical it is to work together as a community to ensure our vision for our students comes to fruition. I am committed to continuing the tradition of excellence that exists at Flower Valley Elementary School by providing enriching opportunities and a rigorous, engaging academic experience for all students, while also fostering a sense of community and family where all are welcome and encouraged to pursue their passions and take care of one another.
I look forward to continuing the great work that is happening at Flower Valley Elementary School. Our Flower Valley Fireflies truly "light the way" in all that they do.
Sincerely,
Dr. Angie L. Fish

From Leslie Brew, Assistant Principal
Dear Flower Valley School Staff, Students, and Families,
It is with great excitement and deep gratitude that I introduce myself as the new assistant principal of Flower Valley Elementary School. I am truly honored to become a part of this incredible community, and I look forward to learning, growing, and leading alongside each of you.
Raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, I am a proud product of Montgomery County Public Schools. I attended Westover Elementary School and transitioned to Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary School where I was part of the very first 5th grade graduating class. Afterwards, I continued on to Francis Scott Key Middle School and then Springbrook High School. My experiences as an MCPS student shaped my passion for education and led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park.
My professional journey began in the classroom, where I found great joy in teaching and supporting students. Over the years, I served as a Math Content Coach and Staff Development Teacher—roles that allowed me to work more closely with staff and families. It was in these positions that I discovered how much I value building capacity in others and fostering meaningful connections across a school community. That passion led me to earn my Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Hood College and ultimately to school leadership.
At the heart of my work are three core values: perseverance, equity for growth, and relationships. I believe in the power of resilience and the importance of cultivating a learning environment where every student feels empowered to grow. I am committed to ensuring that each child has equitable access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. And above all, I believe that strong, respectful relationships—with students, staff, and families—are the foundation of a thriving school community.
Outside of school, I live in Elkridge, Maryland with my husband, our two sons, and our dog, Brownie. Much of our time is spent on the sidelines of football, soccer, lacrosse, or wrestling matches, depending on the season. I also love to craft, bake, and catch the latest movies in the theater.
I am so excited to join the Flower Valley family and feel incredibly fortunate to lead such a dedicated, vibrant, and welcoming community. I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you in the weeks and months ahead. Please feel free to stop by and say hello—I’m eager to connect and begin this journey together.
Warmly,
Leslie Brew
