Outdoor Education Parent Newsletter

Hello 6th grade parents,

This is a friendly reminder that this Thursday, January 10th at 6:00pm in the Farquhar Media Center, we will be conducting an Outdoor Education Information Meeting for all 6th grade parents.  In addition, the AIS, American Identity Solutions, Fingerprinting Mobile Unit will be at our school ready to fingerprint any and all parents interested in volunteering for Outdoor Education.

Although we will have copies of the fingerprinting packet available, you may access it via the link below.  Please feel free to fill out the packet ahead of time and bring it with you to the meeting.

Please note that any volunteers, both day or night, need to be fingerprinted.  In addition, all volunteers need to have completed the online Child Abuse and Neglect module.  This link will take you directly to the training.  Please print and/or save your certificate.

 Information for Volunteers:

-You will need to complete the adult chaperone disclosure form attached to this email. We will have copies at the meeting. This verifies that you have completed the Child Abuse and Neglect module mentioned above.

-Fingerprinting costs $20.00 and is payable by cash or credit card.  If you are planning on being fingerprinted on Thursday, please have one of these forms of payment with you.

-If you are a member of law enforcement, you only need to provide your badge number.

-If you are a current MCPS employee, we will need your employer ID number.

-If you have been fingerprinted in the last three years and would like to forgo additional fingerprinting, we will need your name and date of birth.  AIS will search their database and respond to us with confirmation.  Please note that confirmation may take a few weeks.

If you are unable to make the Thursday 1/10/2019 meeting and would like to chaperone Outdoor Ed, you may download this form and visit any AIS location for fingerprinting.  Note that you need to provide at least 6-8 weeks for the process to be completed and verified by AIS.

We look forward to seeing everyone this Thursday at 6:00pm in the Farquhar Media Center.

Take care,

Michelle Moton and Matthew Green
