Outdoor Education Parent Newsletter
Hello 6th grade
This is a
friendly reminder that this Thursday, January 10th at 6:00pm in the Farquhar
Media Center, we will be conducting an Outdoor Education Information Meeting
for all 6th grade parents. In addition, the AIS, American Identity
Solutions, Fingerprinting Mobile Unit will be at our school ready to
fingerprint any and all parents interested in volunteering for Outdoor

have copies of the fingerprinting packet available, you may access it via the
link below. Please feel free to fill out the packet ahead of time and

Please note that
any volunteers, both day or night, need to be fingerprinted. In addition,
all volunteers need to have completed the online Child Abuse and Neglect
module. This link will take you directly to the training. Please
print and/or save your certificate.
-You will need to
complete the adult chaperone disclosure form attached to this email. We will
have copies at the meeting. This verifies that you have completed the Child
Abuse and Neglect module mentioned above.
costs $20.00 and is payable by cash or credit card. If you are planning
on being fingerprinted on Thursday, please have one of these forms of
payment with you.
-If you are a
member of law enforcement, you only need to provide your badge number.
-If you are a
current MCPS employee, we will need your employer ID number.
-If you have been
fingerprinted in the last three years and would like to forgo additional
fingerprinting, we will need your name and date of birth. AIS will search
their database and respond to us with confirmation. Please note that
confirmation may take a few weeks.
If you are unable
to make the Thursday 1/10/2019 meeting and would like to chaperone Outdoor
Ed, you may download this form and visit any AIS location for
fingerprinting. Note that you need to provide at least 6-8 weeks for the
process to be completed and verified by AIS.
