So the Winter Collection Drive is almost over!!!  There are just two more weeks to submit your Labels for Education (Labels) and Box Tops for Education (Box Tops) for the winter drive!

Remember….the class that collects the most Box Tops and Labels for Education by February 15, 2013 will receive a class prize….A PIZZA PARTY and the winning teacher gets a Manicure and Pedicure!!  There are also prizes for the second place class: a popsicle party, and third place class: a lollipop party.

There was a lot of movement in the 10 ten classes this week.  So your submission of Labels and Box Tops does make a difference.  Please keep collecting and sending in all of your Labels and Box Tops!!

The top ten classes as of February 1, 2013:

1. Adams 6. Hernandez (moved into the top 10 this week)
2. Gilbert 7. Tubiolo (Was in 4th last week)
3. Motayne 8. Pockett (Was in 5th last week)
4. Harris (Was in 6th place last week) 9. Rueda (Was in 7th last week)
5 Gretz (Was in 8th last week) 10. Hafer (Was in 9th last week)

LABELS for Education: To submit 1-point Labels for Education, just clip the UPC Code and glue it to a collection sheet (see attached). It’s fine to tape the UPC, but please use only a small amount of tape! For bottle caps and the 5- or 10-point Labels, put them in a sealed baggie or envelope. Don't forget to label the form or baggie/envelope with the teacher’s name. See collection sheet.

BOX TOPS:  Box Tops can be glued and taped (NO STAPLES) onto the Box Top collection sheets. See collection sheet. Loose Box Tops can be submitted in baggies with the teacher’s name and grade clearly identified on the baggie.

Parents, if you haven’t done so already, please take a couple of minutes and register at www.BTFE.com.  Once you have registered, you can earn FREE Box Tops for the school and receive coupons.

Questions: If you have any questions regarding Box Tops, please email: BoxTops_CGES@yahoo.com.  If you have any questions about Labels for Education, please email: lauralauden@yahoo.com

Help the CGES Media Center receive FREE books from Scholastic!

Labels for Education logo scholastic_logo

Labels for Education and Scholastic have partnered together for an incredible promotion. If our school submits 2,000 UPCs/Labels by the end of March, the media center will receive 10 FREE books from Scholastic! We are on our way to this goal, but definitely need your help. If each family at College Gardens submits just 1 UPC/Label, we’ll be able to reach this goal in no time.

This promotion is based on the number of UPCs/Labels, not the point value, so every UPC truly counts. Unfortunately, bonus points and certificates do not count towards the total for this promotion (but will count towards the school’s point balance).

To submit UPCs/Labels, you can use a collection sheet. However, it may be easier to send the UPCs in a zip-top baggie or sealed envelope. Please use whatever is most convenient for your family. We need the UPCs/Labels submitted to your child’s teacher by February 28. Mark the sheets/baggies with your child’s teacher’s name to receive points for the effort with the Box Tops promotion. It’s truly win-win!

If you have any questions about the Labels for Education program or this offer for FREE books for our school’s media center, please contact Laura Laudenberger at lauralauden@yahoo.com.

5th Grade Photos for the Yearbook

yearbook

5th Grade Students and Parents, the yearbook needs your help!  We will be doing some special pages for the 5th graders only in the yearbook.   In addition to the yearbook portraits, we are planning to include a Kindergarten photo and publish a quote for each 5th grade student in the yearbook.   Please see the attached flyers for more information in either Word or PDF format.  Our preference is to receive this information electronically, so please submit your child's kindergarten photo and quote to cgesyearbook@gmail.com by February 28.  Thanks everyone!
