Welcome back to all returning families and a big WELCOME to all new families. We are very excited for the new school year. This year, more than ever, the PTA needs YOUR help. The time you give to the PTA and the school will be worth your while-and fun! Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of all our children!

The PTA welcomes you to join our forums to raise your concerns and contribute your ideas and talents to better our school. We will have a table at open house in the main lobby. Please stop by for room parent sign ups, volunteer opportunities and memberships. We have a limited number of CGES water bottles for sale for $9.00.  Arrive early - they will go fast!

Our first forum on Teaching and Learning will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 7:00pm in the school all purpose room. All forum dates and activities will be posted regularly on the CGES PTA website.

We would like to thank you in advance for your support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at info@cgespta.org.

Want to help our kids? It’s easy. Our school can receive up to $10,000 in Target GiftCards® for books or any supplies we need. Wouldn’t that be great? All we need to do is vote for our school until September 8. You can vote every week.  It’s part of Give With Target®. For every 25 votes our school receives, Target will send a $25 gift card. Find out more and vote at www.Facebook.com/Target.

The link for college gardens is https://apps.facebook.com/givewithtarget/schools/27137

It is not a contest....every school gets a $25 gift card for every 25 votes their school receives.  While the promotion goes until September 8 they can end it sooner if they have given out all of the gift cards they plan to give so please participate now!

back_to_school

After parents have snapped the moments from the first day of classes, which is Monday, Aug. 27, they can select the best photo and email it to pio@mcpsmd.org. The pictures will be posted on the MCPS website beginning Monday morning.

For the third year, the MCPS Department of Public Information and Web Services is inviting parents to submit their favorite first-day-of-school snapshots for our back-to-school coverage.

To contribute a photo, follow these simple steps:

  • Choose your best, horizontal snapshot.
  • Send the photo as a jpeg file that is no larger than four megabytes and email it to pio@mcpsmd.org.
  • Include your child's name, grade level and school name. (We will not publish last names.)

By submitting a photo, parents are agreeing to its use for publication on the MCPS website.
