Secondary Academic Programs Analysis Projects

Your input is vital for the Academic Programs Analysis! MCPS is working to ensure that all high school students have equitable access to high-quality academic programs that meet our community's needs. Whether your kids are in high school now or not yet there, we want to hear from you! Please take a moment to fill out a brief survey that should take no more than five minutes. The survey will be open until May 15, 2025.

Boundary Study Engagement Dates

The following middle and high schools are included in the boundary study scope for the opening of the new Crown High School and the expansion of Damascus High School:  

Winston Churchill HS, Clarksburg HS, Damascus HS, Gaithersburg HS, Northwest HS, Poolesville HS, Quince Orchard HS, Richard Montgomery HS, Seneca Valley HS, Watkins Mill HS, Thomas S. Wootton HS, John T. Baker MS, Cabin John MS, Roberto W. Clemente MS, Forest Oak MS, Robert Frost MS, Gaithersburg MS, Herbert Hoover MS, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. MS, Kingsview MS, Lakelands Park MS, Montgomery Village MS, Neelsville MS, John Poole MS, Ridgeview MS, Rocky Hill MS, Hallie Wells MS and Julius West MS. What to expect during these initial options engagement meetings.

• Each meeting is designed to involve as many people as possible and is one hour (60 minutes), with in-person and virtual options.

Participants will:

• Review the Boundary Study Process and Board Policy FAA, Educational Facilities Planning (5 minutes).
• Receive a presentation of the initial options and hear a highlight of key themes (10 minutes for each option, 30 minutes total).
• Understand how to access the options resources digitally (10 minutes).
• Receive the initial options survey link for participants to provide feedback (10 minutes).
• Hear about next steps (5 minutes).
