After School Activities at Westland
The school day ends at 3:00 pm, but there's still plenty going on at Westland after hours! Westland has a variety of after school activities ranging from classes and clubs, intramural sports, interscholastic sports, and school plays and musicals. Please read ALL the information below for specifics about our after school activities. After school activities that run until 4:30 pm are also supported with transportation. There are activity buses on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - click here for the bus stops and the yearly schedule for when the busses will run. In addition, the sports bus runs whenever an interscholastic team has tryouts.
Enrichment Academies, Inc. (EAI) runs three 8 week sessions each year (fall, winter and spring). EAI provides an online catalog through the Westland listserv and website a week prior to the start of registration for each session. Limited paper copies of the catalog are available in the school and counselor offices. For more information about the EAI program and to register for the EAI After School Clubs, click here.

Intramural activities are open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students that have paid their Extracurricular Activities Fee and that are academically eligible. For more information, please see the bulletin board that is located outside the boys locker room/dance studio & listen to morning announcements. Any questions about school-sponsored clubs or intramural sports should be directed Westland's Intramural Director, Michelle Clise.
The Montgomery County Board of Education requires payment of a $32.50 MCPS extracurricular activities (ECA) fee by middle or high school students who participate in extracurricular activities for the 2016/17 school year. This fee, payable to MCPS, is used to pay for after school activity buses, as well as to underwrite the costs of certain clubs and classes. Participants in ALL after-school activities must pay the ECA fee.
To pay the ECA fee on-line; you will need your student's 6-digit ID number (can be found on any report card or other MCPS correspondence), as well as a credit card. Click here.
Scholarships are available for Wildcat Programs
If you are interested in a scholarship for an afterschool activity, please contact Maria Kohlerman, Westland Resource Counselor. The process is completely confidential. Even though the PTA enthusiastically supports the scholarships, no PTA volunteers are ever involved with their actual administration.
