Mission Statement
As an integral part of the International Baccalaureate World School community, it is the mission of the Westland MS counseling department to support the development of “inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.” We work in partnership with all stakeholders to promote every student’s academic success, personal, interpersonal and healthy development, and long term planning and goal setting.
Vision Statement
It is the vision of the Westland Middle School counseling department to provide a safe and welcoming environment where all students are empowered academically, socially and emotionally to reach their personal and academic potential.
Delivery of Services
Our school counseling program supports academic, personal, interpersonal,
career, and healthy development through individual counseling, group counseling,
and classroom guidance. Counselors collaborate with Westland MS staff
members, students, parents, and community professionals to identify
student needs and to provide the support and resources necessary to maximize
personal and interpersonal growth.
