SKES Media Center Facilities
We are very proud of the Media Center here at Strawberry Knoll!
In order to share our space, we have posted a "photo tour" of the Media Center facilities. This past summer the entire Media Center was painted, and we received brand new carpet. It looks wonderful!
Check out one of the most important and central learning hubs of the school!
This is a picture of the instructional area of the Media Center.
The Media Center contains 6 tables - a maximum of 36 students or adults can be sitting in the Media Center at one time. Oftentimes the Media Center hosts events such as grade level planning meetings, PTA meetings, Back-to-School Night grade level presentations, and other community events.

This is the circulation desk in the Media Center. All books are to be returned using the book return slot (not by leaving them on the counter!). Books are then returned by Media Center staff and placed on the shelving cart. Drop-in volunteers are welcome - the shelving cart is almost always full!

Classes come to the carpet for lessons and/or to hear stories.
Students are always welcome to read on the carpet during their free time

This is our Fiction section - Everybody (or picture) books are shelved on the shelves surrounding the carpet and on the moveable shelves bordering the carpet. Chapter books are located on the shelves opposite the Everybody books, and along the wall of windows

This is our Non-Fiction section, which runs along the back walls of the Media Center. Biographies are included in this section - they are on the left side of the shelf "island" in the back of the Media Center. The Strawberry Knoll Media Center has a research hub of 7 computers in the Media Center. Every student in the school has his/her own individual login (3rd - 5th graders have a password as well). Students and staff may use these computers throughout the day, although students must always have permission
