Potential Athletes Need to Know

  • Tryouts for a sport generally last 2-4 days, depending on the sport and the number of students trying out.
  • You must attend ALL tryout days – unless cleared by the coach
  • All required forms are to accompany the athletes to the first day of tryouts.  Athletes who do not have all the forms completed will not be permitted to take part in any team activity. (see below)
  • Upon making the team, all players are required to pay the MCPS Activity Fee before they can continue to practice with the team
  • It is the player’s responsibility to be properly equipped for tryouts and participation in a sport.  Coaches cannot be responsible for individual athletes’ equipment or personal belongings.
  • Each sport will have a pre-season informational meeting for parents and families to communicate team rules and expectations.  It is strongly encouraged that a family representative (and the athlete) attend this important meeting.
