2018 Graduation Photos
MCPS is inviting parents/guardians and students to share their favorite 2018 graduation snapshots, which will be shared on the district’s website and social media.
For e-mail, parents/guardians should select their best horizontal graduation snapshot and send the photo as a .jpeg file (no larger than 4 MB) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your child’s first name and school (we will not publish last names). Many of the pictures will be posted on the MCPS website and Flickr account.
For social media, parents/guardians and students can post photos on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #MCPSGrad. Some of the posts will be shared on our Twitter and Facebook pages. By submitting a photo, parents/guardians are agreeing to its use for publication on the MCPS website.
Summer Student Service Learning (SSL) Hours
Summer is a great time for students to become involved in service activities and earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours. Students can participate in a range of activities—working at a soup kitchen, cleaning up a local park, or collecting items for a clothing or food drive. All MCPS students need 75 SSL hours to graduate from high school. Students can begin collecting those hours the summer before Grade 6.
Check out the various organizations and opportunities that are already approved for SSL hours here. Also, don’t forget that all service hours performed during the second semester must be turned in to the school’s SSL coordinator no later than Friday, June 1, 2018.
