Bullying Prevention Lessons

On Thursday, December 22nd, our students started a five-lesson series on Bullying Prevention.  This series was developed by the National Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Intervientions and Supports, the same grant-funded research group that brought us PBIS (now called "Redland Respect Expectations").  These lessons will give our students tools to use should they experience bullying behavior either as a target or bystander.

Here are our 5 lessons which you can review and use as discussion points with your child regarding bullying and responding appropriately.  The first document listed for each lesson is the original lesson plan from PBIS, the next is the presentation (adapted for Redland) which the students will view.

  • be hand-delivered by a parent/guardian directly to the counseling office
  • be accompanied by a pre-addressed envelope with adequate postage
  • have proper information completed by the parent on any school-specific request forms
  • be delivered at such a date as to allow a minimum of 10 days processing time prior to due date

 Career Day 2011

This year's Career Day is scheduled for November 11th, 2011 (Veteran's Day).  The program runs throughout our early release schedule from 7:55am to 12:10pm and offers our students the opportunity to learn more about several careers.  The key to our success has always been in our wonderful volunteer speakers.  If you are interested in assisting with this year's program, please review this informational letter Career Day Letter 2011 and contact the counseling office.
