All parents who have a child trying out for a spring sports team should attend this informational meeting.
This meeting will have information about the upcoming season as well as a meet & greet with sport specific coaches.

Winter Sports Awards Night
Thursday, February 25, 2016 - 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Winter sports athletes and families, please plan on attending our Winter Sports Awards Ceremony.
Student-athletes should dress to impress.
6:30 – 7:00 PM - We will have pizza, snacks and light refreshments
7:00 – 8:00 PM - Awards ceremony in the auditorium
8:00 – 8:30 PM - Sport specific breakout sessions in classrooms
Let It Snow Dance
Let It Snow Winter Formal Dance tickets go on sale February 1st and end February 19th. Tickets are $15. Obligations must be settled before ticket purchase. Guest forms are available in the Main Office and on the SGA bulletin board in the cafeteria. Payments for book or uniform obligations for the purchase of dance tickets are non-refundable. If you are in dispute of an obligation, you must see the staff member who wrote the obligation.
Thomas Edison Open House
The new date for the Winter Open House at Thomas Edison High School of Technology is Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 5 - 8 pm. Thomas Edison is the only non‐comprehensive high school offering students from all MCPS high schools Career & Technical Education programs. Reservations are not required. When: Pick Up Saturday, April 9,2016 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM @ Northwood High School near football stadium. Delivery Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Attention ALL 10th grade families!
Is your 10th grader going to be the first in your family to attend college in the United States? Are you worried about paying for college and whether your child will be ready for the next challenges of college? Then encourage your child to apply to the Achieving Collegiate Excellence & Success (ACES) program, a partnership between Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), Montgomery College (MC), and the Universities of Shady Grove (USG). The ACES program will help your child value responsibility, be independent, and never give up. Your child will receive a personal Academic Coach who will establish a one-on-one relationship and provide academic and college planning workshops. Ultimately, we expect excellence from ACES students and will work with your child closely as they work to achieve their goals and be successful in high school, college, and beyond. Upcoming Parent Academy Workshops
Parent Academy workshops give parents tips and tools to help their children succeed in school. The workshops are free and held at schools and locations throughout Montgomery County.
HBCU 8th Annual College Fair
High school students and parents are encouraged to attend the Historically Black Colleges and Universities 8th Annual College Fair on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Paint Branch High School from 6 - 8 p.m. On-site admissions interviews for seniors will begin at 5 p.m.
7th Annual Choose Respect Montgomery Healthy Teen Dating Conference and Video Contest
The 7th Annual Choose Respect Montgomery Healthy Teen Dating Conference will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Students are also invited to create Public Service Announcement (PSA) to promote awareness of dating abuse and domestic violence. The submission deadline is Friday, February 19, 2016.
College Goal Maryland
The event on February 11, 2016 is designed to help students and parents complete the FAFSA.
After Prom Fundraising Announcement
Northwood PTSA has enrolled in the SCRIP program to raise funds for the After Prom party. The SCRIP program has hundreds of gift cards that may be purchased from companies such as Chipotle, Starbucks, LLBean, Giant, Safeway, Walmart, Target, Shell, TJ Max, Cabela's, Home Depot, Panera and many more.
