Feedback Forms for Woodward HS Study Group

The Woodward High School Reopening and Nontraditional Facilities Study Group's purpose is to inform the community about how to relieve overcrowding in a number of clusters by potentially re-opening the former Woodward High School and/or through the use of nontraditional facilities. As part of this work, the MCPS Department of Facilities Management has designed two feedback forms to distribute to the community, one on possible programming concepts that could be part of re-opening the new school, and one on non-traditional school facilities. The forms are available in English and Spanish.

AP US History Bootcamp
July 10-14 9 AM -12 PM

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The goal of APUSH Bootcamp is to discuss and develop the skills students will need for success in high school, in college, and beyond. The Bootcamp is not only about learning academic content, but for developing those attributes that will guarantee success while having fun and building relationships.

AP US History Bootcamp is designed to give students enrolled in APUSH an opportunity to experience the types of activities and requirements involved in APUSH, as well covering a portion of the class that deals with recent history and is typically skimmed over during the school year. The Bootcamp will familiarize students with the course textbook, help them develop skills for note-taking and reading a college level textbook, review analytical essay writing, build time management skills, and work on analysis of primary and secondary sources. This week will take students through one chapter of the book, and provide them valuable insights as to what they can expect during the school year. In addition, this event will allow students to establish bonds with their peers that will promote solidarity in the classroom.

The AP US History Bootcamp is highly recommended to all students enrolling in AP US History in the fall.

Planning for Prom 2018

Though it may seem early, the Class of 2018 is busy at work planning prom for next year. As we consider some changes to prom logistics, we are seeking feedback from the Northwood community. Sophomores and juniors should have received QR codes with a survey link in their NSL or World History classes this week. You can also find the survey by going to https://tinyurl.com/NWProm2018.
