The mission of Newport Mill Middle School is to provide an educational experience that uses STEM-centric teaching and learning to produce highly successful readers, writers, and problem-solvers who gain intercultural understanding and respect by addressing real-world problems through authentic assessment.

The vision of Newport Mill Middle School, an International Baccalaureate World School, is to inspire and support socially active, compassionate, respectful, and intercultural lifelong learners.

The Instructional Focus of Newport Mill Middle School, is that teachers will provide students with a daily opportunity to demonstrate the ATL (Approches to Learning) Skill of THINKING through critical and transfer thinking skills, as taught through questioning strategies.

8th Grade High School Choice Information

School choice is due Nov 1.

Criterion applications are ONLY available through ParentVue (because parents must consent to their student going to varying schools - especially those who do not provide MCPS bus transportation!). Eligibilty Reports are available after 10/4/24 at 5pm on StudentVue or ParentVue under DOCUMENTS.
