The online Child Abuse and Neglect training is now in Spanish! Click the title link for the website information. It will also be available in French, Chinese, Vietnamese, Amharic, and Korean in late October 2016. Please remember that in order for parents/guardians to go on field trips they have to have completed this online training.
The George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy kicked off its 2016–2017 season of Saturday School on Saturday, Sept. 24. Saturday School is a low-cost tutoring and mentoring program that helps MCPS students enhance their mastery of core academic subjects. Classes will end in May. Registration is $40 for students who receive free and reduced-price meals services (FARMS) and $70 for non-FARMS students. Visit www.saturdayschool.org/ for more information.
MCPS is requiring that all volunteers view the below online training on preventing, recognizing, and reporting child abuse and neglect prior to volunteering in any MCPS school. Volunteers will not be able to assist in the classroom until the training is viewed. Confirmation of your completion of this course will be sent via email. Please bring in the completion certificate upon your arrival at Glen Haven Elementary to volunteer. If you have any questions please contact Rebecca Willis at 301-649-8051. Please click on the blue title above for the training link.
