  • Red Ribbon Week Spirit Week at Glen Haven

      Monday, October 24-  “Love Yourself”-  Students wear red and/or wear hearts!                           Tuesday, October 25-  “Turn Your Back on Bad Choices”- Students wear their shirt backwards.        Wednesday, October 26-  “Sock It to Bad Choices”- Students wear their crazy mismatched socks to school.                                                       Thursday, October, 27-  “Your Choices Are the Key To Your Dreams.”-  Students wear pajamas and sneakers.                                                            Friday, October 28-  “Team Up Against Bad Choices!”-  Students wear their favorite team shirt to school.     

  • Training for Parents, Guardians and Volunteers

    The online Child Abuse and Neglect training is now in Spanish! Click the title link for the website information.  It will also be available in French, Chinese, Vietnamese, Amharic, and Korean in late October 2016.  Please remember that in order for parents/guardians to go on field trips they have to have completed this online training.   

  • Register for Saturday School

    The George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy kicked off its 2016–2017 season of Saturday School on Saturday, Sept. 24. Saturday School is a low-cost tutoring and mentoring program that helps MCPS students enhance their mastery of core academic subjects. Classes will end in May. Registration is $40 for students who receive free and reduced-price meals services (FARMS) and $70 for non-FARMS students.   • Kids Helping Kids Food Drive

    Once again this year, Glen Haven will be participating in the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Please donate any non-perishable items (peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables, rice, tuna fish, cereal, etc.) between October 4 - 28, 2016.  The classroom that collects the most food (in pounds) will win an ice cream party.  Food will be donated to the Glen Haven Pantry and the Maryland Food Bank.

  • Important Message for Glen Haven Parents/Guardians/Volunteers

    MCPS is requiring that all volunteers view the below online training on preventing, recognizing, and reporting child abuse and neglect prior to volunteering in any MCPS school.  Volunteers will not be able to assist in the classroom until the training is viewed. Confirmation of your completion of this course will be sent via email.
