Giant A+ Rewards-Gaithersburg Middle School ID# 00795

Our school is participating in the Giant A+ School Rewards Program, a great school fundraising program that runs from October 6, 2017 through March 15, 2018. This is an easy way for you to help our school earn CASH each time my family members and friends shop at any Giant Food Store.  Please help our school and register your Giant Card to our SCHOOL ID# 00795.

·         Visit Follow the prompts to create your online account.  You’ll need your 12-digit Giant Card number and the School ID #.

REMEMBER…if you supported our school last year, you DO NOT need to register your card again!

To earn points:

·       Use your Giant Card each time you shop at Giant, and you will earn CASH for my school. You can track the number of points you are earning for our school by checking your grocery receipt starting October 6, 2017 through March 15, 2018.

·       At the end of each month, your points are calculated and converted to CASH rewards. These CASH rewards for our school are updated monthly. You can track our progress when you sign in to your online account.

·       My school will receive one CASH awards check at the end of the program and can use this cash for any of its educational needs.

Our school needs your support!  Please take a moment to register your Giant Card today! And don’t forget to tell your friends and neighbors to do the same.  It could mean the world to our school. Thank you!

Queer Society Club:

The Queer Society is a new student-run club which utilizes the collective power of the LGBT+ student body, and has already gotten a major gay news website unblocked on MCPS servers. The Society's primary goals are to create an open-minded, bold new dialogue among queer students at GMS, as well as support individual victims of discrimination and/or harassment (whether by staff or students). Their first half hour discussion meeting will be after school on Thursday, January 4th, in Room 701. Founding members Ezra Kronfeld and Sophia Sutton are happy to answer any questions, and all information shared in confidence will not be disclosed publicly.

MAP Testing:

All MCPS students take the MAP-R (Reading) and MAP-M (Math) tests three times a year. For the winter administration we are using a different schedule to help facilitate the testing. The students will test during a two-hour block in the morning to avoid multiple days of testing. The MCPS targets are below. Your student will bring home their score sheet for math and reading next week.
