Chorus and General Music News
I am very happy to announce that this year Mrs. Suzanne Looper has joined our staff and will be our part-time general music teacher. She is a veteran teacher in Montgomery County and brings her expertise and enthusiasm to Flower Hill on Tuesdays, teaching Mrs. Downing, Ms. VanVoorhis, Mrs. Robertson, and Mr. Hyson’s classes. We welcome her!
Chorus slips have been sent out to all 4th and 5th grade students interested in joining the Flower Hill chorus this year. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays, from 11:30-12:20pm in the music room. I look forward to having your child join this year, as it is a wonderful opportunity to develop their singing voices and have fun as well! No auditions necessary, just a desire to sing and enthusiasm! Please return your signed permission slips as by September 18th, 2009.
About the Music Program
The general music program at Flower Hill ES prepares students to be skilled musicians through the use of the Montgomery County Program of Studies. Students have the opportunity to play, sing, listen to, improvise, and compose music. They also have various chances to express themselves through movement.
