Flower Hill ES Principal Hiring Process
Mr. Christophe Turk, Director, Division of School Leadership and Improvement, will meet with Flower Hill Elementary School families and staff on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, to discuss the process of filling this important role. The staff meeting will occur in person at 3:30 p.m. in the Media Center and the community meeting will occur at 6:00 p.m. in the Media Center. Each meeting will also have a Zoom option. Interpretation services will be provided in Spanish. This meeting will provide participants with a brief overview of the hiring process for principals in MCPS, an opportunity to develop an understanding of the standards that MCPS uses to determine the effectiveness of principals, and a chance to share their school priorities and the characteristics of the next leader of Flower Hill Elementary School. The information gathered during these meetings will be synthesized into key themes, which will help guide the selection of prospective candidates and the development of interview questions. Welcome Acting Principal Ms. Teryl Nawezi
Dear Flower Hill Elementary School Community, As the Director of School Leadership and Improvement for Flower Hill Elementary School, I am writing to share an important leadership update. Effective Monday, July 21, Ms. Teryl Nawezi will serve as Acting Principal of Flower Hill Elementary School through Thursday, August 20, 2026, while we conduct the principal selection process. This interim appointment is intended to ensure the school continues to benefit from strong, stable, and supportive leadership as summer planning and school readiness efforts continue. Throughout this transition, the Division of School Leadership and Improvement will work closely with Ms. Nawezi to ensure continuity and a seamless transition in leadership.
