 November News

Kindergarteners have been busy little bees this month. They have been studying letter sounds and learning to read high frequency words. They have used this knowledge to write about themselves and others. We are proud of our many budding readers and writers! Please continue to help your child in remembering to return their reading baggie EVERY day so that they can fully participate in their reading group.

In Math, they are learning to count objects to thirty-one and recognize numerals to twenty. You can help!  Give your child opportunities to read and write numerals at home.

The students were excited to have a visit by the firefighters from the Shady Grove Fire Station.  They had the opportunity to view firsthand the uniforms, tools and equipment used by the firefighters.  Each child even got to spray the hose!
Our field trip to Butler's Orchard was a huge success.  The students had the opportunity to take a hayride-tour of the farm, observe signs of fall, and pick a pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch.  Many thanks to our parent chaperones, who were essential in providing a safe and fun learning experience for the students.
Kindergarten teachers look forward to meeting with parents during the upcoming conference days, Nov. 11th and Nov. 12th.
We want to thank you all for your contributions to our Halloween parties!  Due to your continued generosity the children had a wonderful time!

Mission Statement

We, the kindergarten children, will work hard to become the best readers, writers and math thinkers that we can be.

We will learn by listening and participating during whole group and small group lessons.  We will take charge of our learning during literacy and math centers, writer’s workshop, and in doing our homework.

We will show respect by following our school rules, helping each other and doing our best each and every day!
