May News
Spring has finally sprung! In math the first graders just finished adding 2 digit numbers together. We are beginning to study shapes, geometric figures, fractions and time. In reading the students have been using text features to help them understand a nonfiction text. Our reading testing will begin soon. The first graders are aiming to meet our level 18/J benchmark reading level. We know they can do it. Keep up the reading.
We have been learning about the importance of recycling and keeping the Earth clean. To continue our learning, we will be visiting the Montgomery County Recycling Center in May. It was great to see so many parents and children at this year’s Math-Reading Night. It was a great success. With only 2 months left of First Grade, let’s keep up the great work!
