November News  

It is hard to believe but we are ending the first quarter of first grade.  The students are working very hard.  We are very proud of them!!  In reading, we will be beginning a new author study focusing on books by the children’s author Eric Carle!  Our spelling instruction is beginning for students.  Remind your child to study their words every night and continue to encourage them to read and discuss their reading book as well.  We want every child to earn a “Book It” certificate for the month of November.  In science we are beginning our weather unit.  The students are excited to learn more about seasons, especially this exciting chilly season. 

In math students will be exploring concepts such as measurement, time and problem solving.  We had an excellent time on our first field trip to the pumpkin patch.  Thanks to all the chaperones that helped make this event a wonderful success.
