DHS Athletic Entry Expectations

To ensure a safe, family-friendly environment at all DHS home athletic contests, please review our entry requirements and spectator expectations for the season:

High School Student Entry

  • School ID Required: All high school students must show a valid school ID proving they attend one of the two competing schools.
  • Other Visiting High School Students: High school students from other public, private, or out-of-county schools (not playing in the game) are not automatically admitted. Entry is determined on a case-by-case basis and requires prior approval from the principal or designee.

  • Bag Policy: No school-aged student may bring a backpack into any athletic venue or event. 

  • Prohibited Items: Firecrackers, fireworks, confetti sticks, noisemakers (e.g., air horns, megaphones, whistles).

Elementary & Middle School Students

  • Adult Supervision: Younger students must enter with a paying parent/guardian who remains at the event to supervise them. Drop-offs are not permitted.
  • Seating: Younger students must remain seated in the spectator areas unless accompanied by an adult to concessions or restrooms.
  • No Horseplay: Running, playing tag, or open ball playing inside the venue or concourse is not permitted.

Attendance Expectations for Everyone: Once any spectator leaves the athletic venue, re-entry is prohibited.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in removal or loss of attendance privileges for future athletic contests.

Homecoming Week

Who's got spirit? Definitely DHS Hornets! Our Homecoming Week will be from October 12 through October 16. Our Homecoming Dance will take place on October 17 at DHS.

 

DHS Class of 2027 Graduation Date

We are excited to share an important milestone for the Class of 2027! Please mark your calendars for our upcoming commencement ceremony:

  • Date: Wednesday, May 26, 2027
  • Time: 9:00 a.m.
  • Location: UMBC
